Camacho began his career at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) as an environment, safety & health technician in July 1983. Through the years he worked in many divisions including Strategic Deterrence. He spent most of his career as a trainer, where he impacted everyone at LLNL who performed any type of radiological work. He was a subject matter expert qualifying radiological control technicians and lecturing frequently to many workers on glovebox training and other safety related topics. He was also a contracted instructor at the Center for Disaster Preparedness in Anniston, Alabama where he performed radiological emergency response operations training to emergency response personnel. He supported several expanding your horizon sessions and conducted radiation awareness briefings at elementary schools in the Modesto area.
