Lance Gene Tindell

Lance Gene Tindell died July 18, 2026.  

Tindell was born in Walnut Creek, California, to Randy and Sharilyn Tindell. He was raised in Livermore, where he attended local schools before studying law enforcement at Las Positas College. He began his career at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory before pursuing his lifelong dream of becoming a police officer. He moved to Reno in 2008 when he joined the Reno Police Department.

He is survived by his father, Randy; his mother, Sharilyn; his stepmother, Linda; his stepbrother, Kevin; his children, Rogan, Easton and Adelaide; the mother of his children, Kirsten; his fiancée, Kristie Callegari; and her children, Mateo and Bella. He is also survived by his former partners and lifelong friends, Byron Cragg and Ryan Gott, who became family to him, as well as his brothers at the Reno Police Department.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Aug. 29 at Summit Christian Church in Sparks, Nevada. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hashimoto Widows and Orphans Fund, PO Box 41057, Reno, NV 89504 in his memory.
