Emily (Emmy) S. Ward

Emily (Emmy) S. Ward died July 29, 2024. She was 85.

Ward was born on Nov. 4,1938, in Fresno, California. The family eventually moved to Tracy where she attended New Jerusalem Elementary School and Tracy High School. After graduation, she worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as an executive secretary.

She is survived by sisters, Teresa Villasenor and Jennie Ryan (John); sisters-in-law, Dorothy Gonzalez and Mildred Gonzalez, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, Rich, brothers, Frank Gonzalez and Smiley Gonzalez; sister,s Lucy Crow and Molly Bell; and companion, Walt Lillemoe.

Funeral services will be held at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 South Central Ave., Tracy, on Tuesday, Aug. 13;, the visitation is from 1-8:30 p.m., the vigil is at 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial is Wednesday, Aug. 14, 11 a.m., St. Bernard’s Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave., Tracy. Interment following mass at Tracy Public Cemetery, 501 East Schulte Road, Tracy. Contributions in her name may be made to St. Bernard’s Building Fund.
