Donald (Don) Kelley

Donald (Don) Kelley died Sept. 6, 2024. He was 85.

Kelley was born on Jan. 29, 1939, in Union Town, Pennsylvania and moved to California when he was five years old. He graduated in 1957 from Encinal High School in Alameda, California. His first job was at Montgomery Wards in Oakland, California in 1958 and then started his career in 1963 at Lawerence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) in the Supply and Distribution Department where he worked his way up to a manager of stores. He retired in 1993 from LLNL completing 33 years of service. He was a member of the Auxiliary Coast Guard in Alameda (Flotilla 21) from 1980s to 1990s, where he crewed an operational facility vessel.  

He is survived by his daughters, Marcey Kelley Smith, Kathleen Sterling and Jill Casey, brother, Robert Kelley, grandchildren, Brandon George, Justin Skinnell, Alison Smith, Jacob Casey and Hailey Casey, great granddaughter, Raegan Casey.
