Derril Rikard
Derril Rikard died March 1. He was 71.
Rikard received his degree in radiologic sciences and national medical x-ray licenses. He began working as a registered radiologic technologist. In 1973, he started his Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory career working in the Non-Destructive Evaluation Group (NDE) as an industrial radiographer. He was certified to the highest level by the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT Level III) in radiographic testing. He was instrumental in the development of computed tomography (CT) capability for industrial applications. Rikard retired from LLNL in 2013.
