Denetris "Dee" Rollins-Perry

Denetris "Dee" Rollins-Perry died Aug. 3, 2024. She was 64.

Perry was born on Nov. 25, 1959, in San Francisco, California. She was the youngest of three children born to Robert and Modiste Rollins. She started doing hair at 14 and received her barbering and cosmetology license. She joined the family business, Rollin's Beauty Supply, where she helped run four shops around San Francisco. She operated her own hair salon in her home for more than 40 years. In 2007, she began working as an administrative specialist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Perry; father, Robert Lee Rollins; brothers, Robert and Curtis Rollins; and her son-in-law, Demaree Hampton. She is survived by her daughter, Kaliaha Monese Kelly; son, Stephen Jerome Smith Jr.; daughter, LaShanna Annese Smith; her eight grandchildren, Marijan Kelly, Karter Kelly, August Hampton, Kassidy Kelly, Stephen Smith III, Maverick Smith, Romeo Hampton and Berkeley Smith; her mother, Modiste Rollins; her favorite aunt, Pearlene Mitchelle; and her honorary son, Jaccarri Carter; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
