Charles Gaston, Jr.

Charles Gaston, Jr. died Dec. 30. He was 51 years old.

Gaston started in the waste management industry in 1989 working for DECON Environmental in Hayward.  In 2002, he came to Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) as a contractor supporting the radioactive hazardous and waste management sample team.  After hiring on full time in 2006, he worked as a RHWM field technician for the main site and superblock teams for several years before serving as WGS main site and superblock team supervisor. His last assignment was as a project coordinator for special projects where he was integral to the success demolition and waste management projects.

Gaston is survived by his wife of 20 years, Shelly, his children, Jazmine (Alex) and Joshua (Hope).

A celebration of life will be held at Cedar Grove Community Church on Feb. 25, at 1:00 p.m. Please wear bright colors as those were his favorite.
