Carlisle (Russ) Markishtum
Carlisle (Russ) Markishtum died May 3, 2026. He was 72.
Markishtum graduated from high school and immediately joined the U.S. Navy, proudly serving aboard the USS Oklahoma City during the Vietnam War. He started working at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) in 1985 and spent his 28-year career in the Security Organization. He began his career as a security police officer. He was promoted to sergeant of the Special Response Team and then special operations lieutenant in charge of the K-9 Program, Traffic Enforcement, Security Escort Program, Central/Secondary Alarm Station and Protected MAA. He also served as senior security administrator/assurance specialist and then as principal security administrator. While working full time, he attended the University of San Francisco and graduated with a bachelor of science in information systems management.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Susan; daughters Jennifer Bunn (Stephen) and Kimberly Markishtum-Camacho (Rochelle) and his brothers Kevin and Randy.
