Anthony Ray Ybarra
Anthony Ray Ybarra died Oct. 16, 2024. He was 59.
Ybarra passed away peacefully surrounded by an outpouring of love from his family after a courageous fight with cancer.
Ybarra and his twin brother Alex were born Feb. 3, 1965, to Ruben and Mary Ybarra. They were soon joined by sister Corinne and brother Lenny. He graduated from Tracy High School in 1983 and went on to obtain an associate’s degree. With hard work and a “can-do” attitude, his crowning professional achievement was working for the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory on the National Ignition Facility where he readied the facility for ground-breaking laser fusion experiments.
He is survived by his children Eric and Alyssa, father Ruben, partner Sobhana, siblings Alex, Corinne (Doug) and Lenny (Sherrie).
In honor of his life, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 11:00 a.m. at the Tracy Memorial Chapel in Tracy, California. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate his legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a Cancer Society of their choice.
