Lawrence Livermore National Security now accepting applications for 2026 Community Gift Program

Lawrence Livermore National Security, LLC (LLNS), the contractor for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), is now accepting applications for its 2026 Community Gift Program.

Established in 2008, the LLNS Community Gift Program provides annual awards to support meaningful local initiatives, with a primary focus on public K-14 science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) education programs and projects. The program reflects LLNS’ commitment to being a valued community partner and good neighbor.

For 2026, the LLNS Board of Governors has authorized up to $220,000 in community gifts. Individual awards typically range from $500 to $15,000. The program is open to publicly funded California K-14 schools, community colleges, IRS-qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and government agencies serving the Tri-Valley, including the Livermore, Amador and San Ramon valleys, as well as Alameda, Contra Costa and San Joaquin counties.

Eligible organizations must demonstrate financial sustainability and viability. Recipients will be required to account for gift expenditures and report program outcomes.

The 2026 Community Gift Program application period opens Monday, May 18, 2026, at midnight. All applications must be submitted by Monday, Aug. 17, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Award checks will be distributed in November 2026, and accountability reports will be due Monday, March 1, 2027.
