JACS Au, an open-access journal from the American Chemical Society, has selected Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) staff scientist Sichi Li to serve on its 2025–2026 Early Career Advisory Board.

JACS Au publishes high-impact, cutting-edge research across the full spectrum of chemistry and related disciplines. The Early Career Advisory Board is composed of emerging scientific leaders who provide insights into evolving research trends and offer feedback on scientific publishing from the perspective of early career researchers.

Li specializes in computational materials science and chemical engineering, with a focus on designing high-performance, durable, functional materials. His recent work focuses on the degradation of soft materials and the critical role of material interfaces in long-term performance. At LLNL, he leads and contributes to multidisciplinary projects that leverage advanced simulations and machine-learning models to understand complex degradation mechanisms and drive materials innovation.

“I’m honored to join the JACS Au Early Career Advisory Board and contribute to shaping the journal’s future,” Li said. “It’s a valuable opportunity to engage with the broader chemistry community and support open-access publishing of high-quality research.”

Li’s term runs from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026. During this time, he will collaborate with fellow board members and JACS Au editors to support the journal’s mission and enhance its visibility within the scientific community.
