'Science on Screen' pairs bioengineering lecture with adventure film 'The Fantastic Voyage'

WHO: The final installment in the 2016 Science on Screen series features Lawrence Livermore bioengineers Monica Moya and Elizabeth Wheeler, who will present "iChip: Human Physiology in the Palm of Your Hand." The pair will discuss their work at the Lab’s Center for Micro and Nano Technology. This lecture is paired with the 1966 feature-length film "The Fantastic Voyage" (PG), a movie about the adventures of small crew in a submarine shrunken to microscopic size and injected into the bloodstream of a human.
WHAT: The Science on Screen series, geared for middle and high school students, creatively pairs cutting-edge science presented by leading Lab researchers with a popular feature film on a similar subject, providing the perfect combination of enlightenment and entertainment.
WHEN: Saturday, April 9. Doors open: 2 p.m. Lecture: 2:30 p.m. Film: 3:30 p.m.
WHERE: The State Theatre, 1307 J. St., Modesto.
