Creating Partnerships Across the U.S.

At Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), our mission is to enable U.S. national security and global stability. Our funding, workforce and other assets are strategically aligned to make mission delivery possible.

Along with our sponsor and government partners, we collaborate with industry and academia to push the boundaries of science and technology. We work with small businesses to create components that power our technology and with university researchers to conduct experiments and test hypotheses.

During the 2024 fiscal year, LLNL partnered with organizations throughout the U.S. to award more than $1 billion in procurements, collaborate on over 90 patents and software licenses, mentor 721 student interns, conduct 79 collaborative Laboratory Directed Research and Development projects and enable the research of more than 5,300 facility users.1
